Think you're wheat intolerant?

Wheat intolerance is believed to affect one person in every three hundred (according to the British Nutrition Foundation). If, at present, you are eating wheat-related produce and have no side effects, then it is highly unlikely that you are wheat intolerant.

Should you be experiencing undue tiredness, weight loss or diarrhoea after eating wheat-based products, contact your GP for a full health assessment. Diagnosis by a qualified healthcare professional is essential and you should not rely on self-diagnosis. Guidance from a dietitian will also help you to replace wheat-based products with other foods to ensure you maintain a balanced diet which will provide the variety of nutrients your body needs.
